Vegetation Management Specialist
Summary
As a Vegetation Management Specialist at Mint City Utility Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of utility services by managing vegetation within rights-of-ways under and around utility lines. You will be responsible for various tasks, including mowing, tree cutting, herbicide application, and tree removal.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine vegetation maintenance activities, such as mowing and pruning, to ensure clear utility rights-of-way.
- Identify and assess potentially hazardous trees that pose a risk to utility infrastructure and the public.
- Safely operate equipment, including chainsaws and herbicide application tools, following industry best practices and safety protocols.
- Apply herbicides in accordance with regulatory guidelines to control vegetation growth.
- Execute tree removal operations when necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to utility services.
- Collaborate with team members to plan and execute vegetation management projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work activities, including herbicide usage and equipment maintenance.
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries during vegetation management tasks.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to vegetation management.
Preferences
- Proven experience in vegetation management, preferably in the utility or forestry industry.
- Proficiency in operating chainsaws, herbicide application equipment, and other relevant tools.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to vegetation management and herbicide application.
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel and work in different locations as needed.
